My Students

Ms. Rennie's class consists of 20 fabulous first grades that live in North Las Vegas. They are a kind, loving group of students who are very curious about the world around them. They are enthusiastic learners that love to ask questions!

My fabulous first graders are an inspiration to me and others around them, even if they don't realize it yet.

They are budding readers, writers, and scientists. They represent the hope for our future!

I spend many hours trying to ensure I have the best materials and activities for them to be successful. I need assistance in getting more materials for our classroom to enhance their learning experiences.

My Project

Our school is lucky enough to have access to many programs and websites for reading and math, such as Envisions, ReadyGen, Moby Max, Accelerated Reader, and Code.org. Unfortunately, we are only able to go to our computer lab once or twice a week. There are times during the year when we are unable to go to the computer lab at all, due to the intermediate grades testing schedules. My students would be more motivated to meet their goals on these programs if they had more opportunities to do so.

Having Chromebooks in our classroom would allow them to take advantage of these programs on a daily basis.

This will result in greater success in our classroom.

These Chromebooks will also allow for opportunities to complete writing assignments, as well as work on a variety of research within our classroom. Students will be able to work individually, in pairs or in groups to research new topics, practice math facts, or create code.
