Dreaming of a Fit and Fun Recess

My students need playground equipment to use when they go out for recess as an option when the playground is occupied by other children.

My Students

Our First Lady Michelle Obama has started a campaign and is a strong advocate for fighting obesity in our children. Well, I would like to join her in this cause. We have one playground at our school to service approximately 480 students.

My students are eager 5 and 6 year olds in kindergarten.

They are the youngest group of children in a K-6th school building. They love recess and would like to get out daily to run, play, exercise, and be fit for the cause of Our First Lady Michelle Obama. With only one playground to service all our students, the little ones have to frequently sit on the sideline to wait for an opportunity to experience the playground.

My Project

If we receive these playground resources, my students will be able to enjoy recess outdoors an a daily basis. They will be exercising their bodies as well as having fun with these outdoor resources. When we are not able to get to the playground, we will have another option and that is to go out for recess and enjoy our new recess resources. Students will be able the jump, throw, balance,catch, and so much more while at the same time fight obesity.

Any donations to this project will strongly impact the students and make a huge difference by providing them with an outlet to exercise and play while working all the muscles in their bodies.

They will have a second option to recess and be their own advocates in staying healthy and fit.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
