My twelve first grade students are a diverse group of young learners. I have students on a range of different reading and math levels. These students love to move around, talk, and have fun with one another.
These kiddos stole my heart from day one.
These kiddos love technology, being outside, and doing hands-on activities to support their learning. All I want for them as their teacher is to give them every opportunity and resource they can to learn everything their heart desires.
My Project
My students need four HP Chromebooks, four headphones, and four mice in order to enhance their learning. These Chromebooks would make a world of difference when it comes to center time during math and reading, as well as enhance learning in science and social studies, which can be difficult to teach on a regular basis in first grade.
My students love learning through technology.
Using these Chromebooks, we would use online programs, such as iReady and MobyMax to help close learning gaps. We would be able to access online materials that coincide with our reading and math series as well. I would love for my students to be able to work in groups to do research projects and explore Science, since our school has no science or social studies curriculum. I would be able to teach them how to type papers and they would be given more opportunities to take tests with Accelerated Reader.
With our computer lab being small and not always fully functional, having a few Chromebooks in our classroom would make a huge difference in my students learning.
