I need a dynamic PD opportunity to help bring back more magic into the classroom. This training includes hotel, registration to the Disney YES Program, food, and park tickets. Training happens inside of the parks.
I have the most talent, creative, and inquisitive students! They come from a suburban community, and my students include military families, English-language learners, and students eager to share their patriotism for love of country and our veterans. Students in the military communities transition from school to school so they deserve their experiences in my classroom to be the very best in their education career.
My passion is for students to value the honor and heritage of veterans and American History.

My Project
Students deserve to have their classroom and education be as fun and creative as a trip to Disney World! Thankfully, there is a professional development opportunity to help teachers accomplish this! I will be learning how Disney creates and manages this magic. Our learning will take us all through the wonderful world of Disney to learn inquiry-based teaching strategies in the classroom, and ways to positively engage students in the learning history and their role in America's story!
This opportunity of a lifetime professional development will allow me to learn how to better engage my students in creative, historically critically-thinking projects and provide meaningful, memorable opportunities for my students, all from the successful model of one of the world's leading companies.
Through our breakout sessions and scavenger hunts, we will be working with Disney to learn how they manage and operate.
Our instructors have created a dream professional development that includes incredible adventures throughout our time including inquiry-based scavenger hunts that will help us find information on how the park is run and what it costs. We can then translate this learning into projects and opportunities for our students.
This is truly an amazing opportunity, teachers learning in the happiest place on the planet! It will benefit students greatly to incorporate the things I learn. I leave knowing how to create digital story-telling opportunities for my students.This will allow them to become modern historians and capture the stories of military families and military communities. This fall, I will take my teaching to the next level. I will be engaging my students in projects that focus on real-world applications and connecting them to people all around the world! I need this training so I can show my students that they can truly change the world!
