I need money to cover the cost of the institute and housing while I am in Alabama. I am willing to cover the cost of travel and food if the tuition is covered.
We are a small rural school district. We work hard to provide opportunities for our students to access experiences they would not otherwise have. Our goal is to foster lifelong learning and help them be good, successful adults.
My students have diverse needs but benefit from hands-on applications of abstract knowledge to help them make connections between what they learn in the classroom and the real world.
Exposure to new skills can open doors to possible career choices not previously considered. They are interested in helping their community both in the classroom and in various after school programs.
My Project
This program will help deepen my knowledge about Biotechnology. While I have a basic understanding of the topic, to go and learn from some of the leading scientists who are performing this cutting edge research would be a dream come true. This may be a way to influence my students to help make the world a better place and to follow their dreams.
Inspiring my students to explore, investigate, experiment, and wonder is my ultimate goal as an educator.
To be able to provide information and activities for my students that could open up a previously unexplored career field as well as introduce them to topics that promise to become more important in the future is one way to help me accomplish this goal. This program will provide me with the background and materials with which to do just that. I can help them learn skills that can be used both in their future science courses as well as potential jobs.
