Dreamers Seeking Make-Believe Tools for Out of This World Adventures!
My students need a dramatic play space with a functional kitchen sink, repaired dress-up clothes, multicultural dress-up clothes to reflect their home life, and materials to learn more about the real world.
When you walk into our classroom you will no doubt be amazed at the creative thinking taking place, the engineers at work, and the children who constantly reinvent themselves into superheroes, community helpers or everyday amazing people they may encounter (or hope to encounter!).
My Pre-K Counts classroom is made up of a unique blend of children from different ethnic and economic backgrounds.
We want everyone to feel valued and represented in our classroom community regardless of what kind of background they come from. We are a family in Room 3!
My Project
The dramatic play area of our classroom is not utilized as often because they children find this space lacking in the resources needed to make it worthwhile. We are eager to update our dramatic play space with furniture that is not broken, dress up clothes that don't need repairs, and resources that will enhance their play and learning.
It is imperative that our students have a classroom environment with materials that reflect what they are passionate about - make-believe - in a way that engages them and helps them learn more about the world around them, including the different cultures represented in our classroom.
Your generous donation to our project will support a classroom of students who are passionate about using their imagination to make their world even more exciting!
We plan to use the materials requested to give the children a place to use their imagination and practice real life skills like cooking food, washing dishes, taking care of children, etc. Dramatic play helps children develop their conversation skills and interactions with others.
The community helper dress up clothes and props offer a chance for children to learn more about their community while exploring possible future career endeavors. The multicultural dress up clothes show that we value all cultures represented in our melting pot classroom.
Providing dress up clothes designed for young children will help them develop their self-help and fine motor skills by independently dressing themselves.
Thank you for considering a donation for my students to have a place to imagine, dream and believe in themselves and learn about their world!
