Help me give my students the ability to extend their learning. Green screen technology will afford our class to creating visually stimulating video presentation and commercials so they can market what they are learning in class.
Our students are simply awesome, we teach economically challenged students who desire to learn more about using technology in the classroom.
They are encouraged to take risks by creating their own history related products that become part of their classroom achievement electronic portfolio.
They are encouraged to dream and explore without teacher influence by using an electronic choice board on what they desire to learn.
Our district is great at supporting our students with Chromebooks, but we are limited in support material to allow our student to explore more creatively with the material they are learning in and out of the classroom.
My Project
Ever see a kid get excited about sharing a new idea or communicate how hard they worked on a project? It simple to think that kids would enjoy going to the front of the class and sharing, but with the new generation and their reliance on cellphone/computer technology, they are more verse to explore new media that they will eventually use in their future professional life. How does a simple Greenscreen studio influence the direction of student learning? It gives our students the ability to communicate and show off their ideas, projects, and dreams without the pressure of having other students view them in front of the class. Stage fright or simple social pressures won't influence our risktaking students as the "green screen" technology gives them an ability to create great video presentations. These videos then can be seen not only by the class but other students on campus at a later date. The Q-ball allows all my students to participate in a fun Q&A or "Share an idea" environment. Since the ball is thrown to all students it allows 100% participation while using this innovative technology. This will piece of technology can be shared by other classes to include our Special Education and other core classes. Lastly, the headphones replace already overused headphones that are broken or having are having connectivity issues. They will be used with my overused classroom Chrome devices so our student can complete their online "Flipped" learning lessons.
