My Students
Our students are creative and love the opportunity to express their creativity when given the chance. The Technology Lab would like to encourage this creativity and provide resources for unique learning experiences.
We serve a population of students who live in poverty and have limited resources within their homes.
Many of them are learning English and school expectations in addition to acclimating to a new culture.
They are smart and passionate about their education and we want to meet them where they are in order to provide every possible learning opportunity.
My Project
We have been creating 3D models for our regional technology fair. We have been using Auto CAD as students design various models, however they are having a hard time fully grasping the concept of three-dimensional design.
The 3D printer will take our students' designs to the next level!
When the students can see and hold their designs, the students' understanding of three-dimensional design will become deepened and concrete.
With students being able to visualize their designs, it is my belief the students will transition from creating everyday items, to designing their own inventions and innovations. This 3D printer is more than a tool for these students, it will open the door to endless creativity.
