I have the best job in the world! Each day I face 25 11 year old students and see the potential within each and every one, a potential that inspires me to find ways to ignite their passion for learning!
The creative energy of my students is limitless.
They imagine solutions to problems in ways I couldn't have possibly anticipated. I always challenge myself to find ways to harness their interests and passions into relevant educational experiences that will inspire ALL of us.
A great deal of these challenges involve the integration of technology. Digital experiences create endless opportunities for exploration, experimentation and problem solving. My students are HUNGRY for these learning experiences! When given the opportunity to engage in work with virtual environments or digital creation, their learning atmosphere becomes one of cooperation, collaboration, networking, exploration and, of course, CREATIVITY!
My Project
STEM- Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It is the NOW of our world. My students DELIGHT in opportunities to solve problems using technology. They are INSPIRED when I pose challenges to them that involve digital resources. They are IGNITED when given a chance to create via Virtual Environments. All of these challenges develop skills that are essential in this 21st Century, skills that are essential for their future.
By obtaining a 3D Printer for my classroom, students will be able to take their virtual learning experiences to the next level and see their imagined creations become a reality.
This experience, I believe, will inspire the next generation of Engineers, Scientists, and Architects, and will prepare them for technology jobs that have yet become a reality in this ever changing world.
