My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. They check the day's schedule and are anxious to get started.
I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and our school also runs a food and clothing pantry for our families. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
Student engagment is an important component to learning. Students will get to study and learn about different building ideas. Students will be able to design cars, bridges, robots and many more ideas they create. They can then take their learning and choose their materials to make a model of their ideas.
Discovering for themself how something is built in our world is an important skill.
Being able to take what they have learned and then apply it to a real world situation will help my students be engaged in the learing process These building materials will give my students a choice of what material would work best for their design.
