The students in our new Robotics program are thirsty for knowledge! We are a middle class, suburban school. The members of our team are from grades 4-6, of mixed gender and race. They all share a passion for science, technology, Legos, and Robots.
Our students are kind, hard-working students who aspire to be future scientists and engineers.
They are creative problem-solvers who like to work together on projects. They deserve as many hands-on opportunities as possible to inspire their dreams.
We have a new robotics program at our school. It is run by two teachers at our site for 4th through 6th graders after school once a week. When we asked for interested students this school year, we had so many, we had to turn some away.
We are looking to expand our program, but we need to have more robotics kits to provide hands-on building and coding experiences for the students.
We are trying to bring down the ratio of students to robots from 5:1 to 3:1. These additional kits will allow more students to experience the excitement of creating a robot and programming it to complete a task. Our goal is to also have a team compete at the FIRST Lego League competition in the Fall of the next school year.
