Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each year our School Library uses a variety of Reading programs to challenge students to read and meet their personal reading goals. Our primary goal is to inspire a love of reading and build good reading habits in all our students. Some reluctant readers and many students that love to read appreciate having a carrot to inspire and push them to meet their goals.
We make sure to recognize every student's reading success as they work toward and meet their reading goals.
I post students' names on the Reading Wall of Fame in the Library, sometimes we have graduation ceremonies to celebrate levels of reading, and we always announce their accomplishments in morning announcements. At the end of the year, I award incentives for meeting their goals and let them choose from a variety of, games, learning activities, books, toys, and donations made by local businesses. By helping to fund this project you are rewarding the hard work of students and helping us to inspire a love of reading.
