My Students

I work with a diverse group of students in an intercity public high school. We have students who have lived in this area their whole lives and many who are immigrants and English Language learners.

We serve a student body with a variety of backgrounds.

I have students with every style of learning ability. Some who are high achievers and some who have had very little formal education.

My classes are not divided by age and so they could be 14 years old up to 21 years old (18-21 for our special needs students).

They all learn differently, so I adapt my teaching to try to meet their needs.

My Project

I have been trying to get a classroom set of drawing tablets for my students to use. We are working with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and drawing with a computer mouse is not the easiest or best way to work. Having a drawing tablet for each student will help students produce better quality work, easier. I currently have about half of the tablets needed for the number of students in my classes.

My students will be able to work more effectively with the appropriate technology for drawing.
