My students need drawing tablets to transfer their creative ideas into computer graphics. This will students them to draw directly into computer applications instead of using a mouse.
The students in my classes are preparing for careers in technology. They are the next generation of designers, animators, 3d modelers, filmmakers, scientists, engineers.
The skills they learn in my classes afford them endless possibilities in their future careers.
Students in my Digital Design and Animation Level & 2 explore the basics of 2D and 3D graphics including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, After Effects. They also begin learning 3d modeling and animation using Autodesk 3ds Max. All of these are industry standard computer applications that prepare students for creative careers.
This design and animation program is brand new to my school and only one of two programs in our county. We need essential supplies that will serve current students and future classes.
My Project
Students have imaginative and complex ideas that sometimes outweigh their growing skills using technology. Elaborate characters are very difficult to create using a mouse as a drawing tool. These tablets will give students another useful tool with which to draw.
Graphic tablets will allow students to transfer their creative ideas into digital formats more efficiently.
Students can get frustrated while drawing using a mouse. If you have ever tried to write or draw using a mouse, you know this quite well; I am sure of it. With these drawing tablets, students will be able to transfer their drawings directly into their designs or use them as templates to trace in graphics applications such as Adobe Illustrator. Graphic tablets are a valuable tool for students who need to learn the tech skills and not get stuck in the drawing phase.
