My students need drawing pencils to incorporate as many different values and gradations into their artworks, that cannot be achieve with regular school pencils.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every morning we start with a warm up that includes a 5 minute sketching of a drawing that is presented on the screen. After, students get fired up by phrasing a quote that helps build their confidence and to achieve their best.
My students are from different backgrounds, students are very diverse and they are predominately latinos.
Most of these students don't have enough resources and are often unprepared to school. They usually work because many of their families are financially disabled. As our school motto "whatever it takes" teachers motivate their students to and participate in volunteer programs, but our main goal is for students to graduate high school and to reach for a higher education.
My Project
Part of being in an art classroom I try to push my students to do their best work. Doing the best work also relates to what materials will they be using to create great quality artwork. Students usually bring any writing instruments, pen and their own regular pencils. Being able to have these set of pencils will allow my students practice different techniques such as blending and adding different values to their work, their drawings will become realistic and three dimensional life like. I would like to have my students compare their drawings with their previous works, and distinguish how quality materials can make their work even more presentable.
These donations will allow my students to give them confidence in their work and be more invested into the course and push themselves to become a more creative and goal oriented person, as I often motivate them with critiques to accomplish their best.
