Located on the JBER base of Anchorage, Alaska, our elementary school serves a uniquely multicultural student population which has been brought together from a wide array of hometowns, backgrounds, and life experiences. One thing common to ALL of our students is they are all children of active-duty military service members & some families sacrifice includes two active-duty service personnel.
Quite a few of my students are what I think of as Manga Art Maniacs - or so crazy about manga they long to produce their own manga art & some desire to create their own manga graphic stories, so they've made known their specific request ~ "Oh, will you pleeease ask our wonderful donors for some MANGA DRAWING BOOKS ~ PLEEEASE?"
Currently, we have ZERO manga drawing to meet these kids' desire to focus on this specialty artistic talent that lights their fires for art and for writing too ~ as some desire to learn the art they love so they can create their very own manga graphic novel stories. My Project
I have students whose number one book request is for Manga Drawing books. These students often leave our library disappointed and persistently voicing their longing for Manga Drawing books ~ every time they come to the library! Unfortunately, with our minuscule library budget purchasing these specialty art books my kids crave isn't possible.
My Manga loving kids are good students who are very smart and often leaders in their classrooms - yet, their hunger for this specialty art of Manga Drawing Books is something I'm asked for every single week ~ for these kids ~ it's a need they hope will be filled by our wonderful donors ~ you!
