My 15 kindergarten students are from a little, rural town in Clinton, Maine. Fun fact: This town is one of Maine’s biggest milking communities and has more cows than people! They are fun, energy filled students who are ready to learn! The majority of my students receive reduced or free lunch and have many distractions at home. These littles deserve the best, and I intend to see they get it! I love my little school with the big heart and big dreams!
My Project
The kids will be encouraged to play at the numerous dramatic play stations while I meet with students 1-1 or in small groups. This will allow students to be engaged, practicing literacy and math skills in situations that are relevant to them while strengthening their social skills. Doctor/Veterinarian, Kitchen, and Camping Stations... How fun! Currently, we do not have any dramatic play stations and I would just love to have some for my kids to enjoy and apply their learning. We work hard all day and I think that with all the different maturity levels in K, this would be a great way to get all my students excited about learning. Thank you!
