My Project

This dramatic play kitchen will allow the preschool children in my classroom to engage in imaginary and fantasy play independently and with their peers. With new pretend play items, the child may learn how to sequence and make lists, count and name items, learn about each job and its responsibilities, practice narration skills, and further develop their play, communication, and social interaction skills.

Pretend play through a new kitchen is important for child development and will be used daily in our classroom during center time rotations.

Not only will this be used by the ECSE staff with each child, the new kitchen set may be used by the speech-language pathologist, physical therapists, or occupational therapists in order to advance the child’s speech and language as well as fine and gross motor skills.
