Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of the PALS Special Education Program. This program is geared to 3 year old's, pre-K, and Kinder students. The classroom will consist of a variety of disabilities that require many different accommodations to assist with their learning and also do some potty training.
All of the students are on different levels of their learning abilities and require much attention and stimulation.
These kiddos come from economic difficulties as well which increases their chances to not succeed in school. I want to work my hardest by ensuring that they gain all needed skills from the very beginning.
My Project
These items will allow for my scholars to experience a wide variety of centers that increase motor skills and sensory play. The Legos table will give an additional center that will increase hand/eye coordination and sensory awareness. The table top toys allow for my students with short attention spans to sit for longer amounts of time by offering a distraction in between table top activities. The mat with a car track on it will allow for additional station of play increasing learning through play by using their imaginations. All of these items will offer an addition to our classroom that will bring variety and increase learning.
