Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My children live in a rural community. Our pre-K class is comprised of 24 amazing children who are eager to learn and expand their minds. Every one of my children receive free lunch and tuition. They reside in an agricultural community. Our school is a single school district with approximate 350 students who attend our school. Our small school allows our children a positive environment where everyone knows each other.
Many of my children are the first generation of their family learning English.
My Project
The wonderful books I have choose encourage my children to learn about colors. Most of my children do not have books at home and love when I read with them. I am trying to encourage them to love reading.
The animals, pizza parlor and ice cream shop are for our dramatic play area.
During the pre-school years it is important to learn during play. These items will give my children the chance to play as a veterinarian or a cook in the dramatic play area. These items will help the children learn about other jobs in the world other than what they normally see in the job field.
