My students need a dramatic play area in our classroom, and a play kitchen or restaurant, with play money, cash and food is a great way to practice cooperation, imagination, and life skills.
Empty cupboards in our play kitchen! We just received a few pieces of play food for our classroom dramatic play area, and need a few more items to create a working kitchen or restaurant.
Our class has students in the first through fourth grades and our dramatic play area is in desperate need of supplies!
These students honor the social curriculum of our public, alternative school, and have been asking for a more focused dramatic play area for cooperative, imaginative, and creative play. The students work together everyday in classroom jobs, class meetings, small group learning, and it's time to round out the classroom with items for the wooden kitchenette donated by a family who moved on from our school.
My Project
Can you remember playing house, restaurant, or serving your parents "breakfast" when you were a child? The students in my class have been patient in getting materials for our play kitchen by using tape and scratch paper to make play money, menus, and food, but they're ready to move on to taking "orders", "preparing" food, and making change from sales! This is an excellent opportunity to apply math skills, customer service principles, and cooperation in this multi-age classroom!
A Pretend & Play Calculator Cash Register, Play Money Set in Wooden Case, Pretend & Play Healthy Foods Play Set and Pretend & Play Sandwich Toy Set will make our dramatic play area a fun and meaningful place to apply skills, imagination and creativity!
Thank you for considering our low-cost proposal for dramatic play materials that lend themselves well to applying math skills, cooperation, and community in our classroom!
Come by sometime and order up a nutritious "lunch" at the Restaurant!
