Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am new to the school, but come with many years of teaching experience. Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten is a fun, enthusiastic, loving, and exciting grade. Students come in happy and eager to learn.
My students are fun, active, curious, thirsty for knowledge, and thrive during centers and small group instruction.
Transitional kindergarten and Kindergarten is vital in preparing students to become academically and socially successful in future grades. For this reason, we must give them an experience that will allow them to be successful.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by giving them ways to be creative and self express. A theater will provide them with an avenue to role-play, practice their listening and speaking skills, and reenact stories read in class.
Dramatic play encourages children to practice conversational skills, promotes sharing, self-regulation, and conflict resolution.
It's important that the teacher creates an area where students will be able to use expression and role-playing to help develop their social-emotional skills. Teaching conflict resolution, sharing, and conversational skills is one way to reach students. However, they need opportunities to to practice these skills in a small play based setting.
