My students need a camcorder, with a memory card and dvd discs, to use to make movies for our drama class.
This project expired on December 6, 2011.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students just went through a horrific event, the tornado on May 22, 2011.
My students are in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
Some of them are taking drama for the first time while others have been in the class for 2 years. The students go to a school of around 500. The school district is high poverty. Our middle school was hit and we will be attending a temporary school.
Technology is very important in the drama class. We always make a movie every year to allow the students to write a script and perform for their classmates and family. The students learn how difficult it is to edit and remember lines as well as remaining in character throughout the performance.
The overhead camera will allow the students to capture video in a fun and interesting way. Most of our school cameras were water damaged in the tornado so updating our cameras will be a plus. The flash drive is to save the information to transfer over to the computer, while the recordable DVDs give the students their own movie to remember and show off for family and friends.
I want my students to have the best supplies available because they deserve a great year!
They have been through lot this year and drama is a way for them to escape for just a little while.
