Dr. Seuss for All

My students need 3 sets of a Dr. Seuss library because our Dr. Seuss collection is in poor shape, and we would love to have some of these classics on our school library shelves.

My Students

Do you remember how much you enjoy the wacky rhymes of Dr. Seuss? Please share your love of this beloved author with the students in my school. These books will be enjoyed by many children and will be used to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss, in school wide read alouds.

My school is a small public school in East Harlem.

We are a pre-k to fifth grade Title One school. The students are wonderful and love visiting the school library. Many are drawn to the Dr. Seuss shelf, but as you can see in the picture, the books are in poor condition, and we are lacking many famous titles.

My Project

My younger students, many who are English language learners, will love the rhymes and pictures found in these classics. My older students spend a tremendous amount of time working on non-fiction text. However, I often find them visiting this particular shelf often, recalling how much they enjoyed these books in their earlier elementary years. Purchasing these books for my school would make many children happy.

The impact of these books in a public school library is lifelong.

When a five year old visits my library, my goal is to make this a place they want to visit. They need to interact with colorful pages with fun and exciting text. These books hold the possibility of unlocking the love of reading for many young children. Loving these books is a gift that will last a lifetime. Thank you in advance for considering my students.
