My sweet, lovable first graders are raised in a low-income, disadvantaged small neighborhood in Mississippi. My students’ hearts are genuine and kind, but they do not have the resources or opportunities available to them as many other kids do.
I strive to make students feel safe and encourage them to look forward to coming to school each day.
I would like my students to always feel like they can accomplish and succeed in anything, despite any obstacles. My goal is to give all my students compassion, effective instruction, confidence and opportunity.
My Project
My class is doing a unit on Dr. Seuss. As a teacher, somehow I have never purchased or received any Dr. Seuss books. I would like to gather some books to read along with our Dr. Seuss biography. These books can be tested with AR, which is also beneficial to my students. We also participate in Dr. Seuss week in March and I do not have any books for that. I am doing a Grinch Day before we get out for Christmas Break and I would LOVE to read the book to my students! Thanks for all you do.
