My students are energetic second graders who come from a multitude of backgrounds. My school is a Title I school, located in a high-poverty neighborhood. The majority of my students speak a language at home that is not English. I teach second grade in a setting in which many have difficulty learning in the traditional sense and learn instead through peers and small groups. Regardless of their background situations or learning styles, these students come to school each day excited and ready to learn.
How many times have you ever wanted to sit with a good book? Many of my students love Dr. Seuss. They love the rhyming simplicity of his books. Sadly, I do not have many of his wonderful, enjoyable books in my classroom library. I would love to add to my classroom collection so that all my students can have the chance to read a Dr. Seuss book at the same time.
It's hard to enjoy reading when you are not comfortable.
These wobble stools will allow my students comfort to enjoy their favorite author. Research has said that if a child can move while learning, they are more likely to remember what they learned. These stools will allow my students the chance to learn while they read and not even notice it.
