This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Can you imagine your childhood without a great book to get lost in? Well, that is the reality of my students' lives. They have been so excited about books that I have shared with them. I decided to start a book club, so they can be exposed to more books, and adopt a love for reading and learning.

I have the greatest group of fifth graders in the inner city, that you have ever met.

They are eager to learn, and excited to excel. They just need to exposure, opportunities, and resources that their suburban fifth grade counterparts have. With these books my students will be well on their way to the exposure that they need.

My Project

I have ordered every book that I could think of. I have ordered class sets of books to allow for the students to form book groups, and discussion groups regarding the books. I have also ordered notebooks to keep in the classroom that will assist the students in writing about what they are reading.

As well all know reading opens us up to a whole other world.

I am so excited to share experiences and opportunities with my students. By fulfilling this order you are assisting me in opeining new horizons up for my students, through books.
