Help me give my students the opportunity to use their own brains to problem solve with their classmates on real-world situations by using STEM tools and project cards to let them become the problem solvers.

My Students

My 5th graders are a bunch of fun-loving, eager, and motivated learners who want to keep up with the rest of the world by having access to as many resources as they can.

As students become more and more dependent on technology for learning, I feel using their own brains is still a needed way of learning.

Using concrete materials to help develop problem solving skills is still very vital in the development of the learning process in the real world.

My Project

The STEM materials will allow students to work collaboratively with their classmates using problem solving skills to find solutions.

This will allow them to build confidence in themselves and their abilities to solve problems.

This will also allow them to build much needed social skills with their peers outside of a screen.

Students will also be able to take some of these projects home to work with their own families to help build a better relationship between home and school in a fun way. Students can also teach these skills to younger students as we partner with a lower grade level each year to help be mentors to them.
