Help me give my students a washer/dryer combo for a way to have clean clothes at school. Coming to school clean and feeling confident in themselves is sure to boost every child’s moral!
I am a Kindergarten teacher in a small community where I have lived all my life. I am excited to learn of this project and to have the opportunity of getting the funding to purchase a washer-dryer for our school. Many of our families do not have their own washer-dryers at home, so students may have to wear the same clothes more than once. Having a washer-dryer would allow us to help provide clean clothes for these students. It would also allow us to wash jackets/coats/backpacks that may otherwise go unwashed.
Our school is located in a rural area In South Central Missouri.
It is a Pre-K through 5th grade campus. Jobs are scarce in our area leaving many families with no job or settling for low paying jobs to help meet their needs. With the fulfillment of this project we can get the tools we need to help our students work to their full potential when testing.
My Project
Having a washer-dryer at school would allow us to help provide our students with clean clothes for school. This would help those who don’t have clean clothes to wear as much as it would help those who might have a spill or accident while at school. We have chosen a stacking washer-dryer combo to save space. Along with the washer-dryer we are requesting laundry supplies to wash the clothing/coats. I believe that if our students have clean clothes they will be more comfortable, feel confident in themselves and be more eager to learn and do their very best in school.
