It is never a dull moment in first grade! Imagination and energy are just the tip of what these kids possess. Every day they amaze me with their inquisitive questions and zest for learning. No matter the subject they embrace the moment and strive to better themselves. My students are very hands on and thrive in project based learning. They are innovators and creators!
Our school is in an agricultural area with a very supportive community.
Faculty go above and beyond to make sure students have a positive learning experience.
My Project
Our classroom is fortunate to have a smart board to enhance our learning environment. It is a fun and exciting tool that brings learning to life by immersing the student into the lesson with interactivity.
A frustration that occurs with our current projector is that it is table mounted and when you stand at the smart board it is difficult to not cast a shadow on the board.
This leaves the user the task of trying decipher where to write/push things on the board and the audience confused as they cannot see most of what is being projected.
With practice I have learned how to stand with minimal shadow, but I believe in having my students be active participants in their learning journey. They need to control the smart board themselves. With the addition of the Epson Short Throw Projector, shadow will be eliminated from the smart board and the focus will be on learning not the distraction that the shadows causes.
