It's time for the Kindergarteners at my school to get "Down and Dirty"! With your help they will be able to paint their clay vases that will be both beautiful and functional.
The students at my school are 78% non english speaking and 85% qualify for free and reduced lunch.
The Kindergrtners are wonderful curious children who enjoy learning. A common phrase that can be heard being blurted out at anytime is " Teacher...I love you." The response given is " I love you too."
My Project
It's time for the Kindergarteners to get down and dirty at my school. Separate grants with different institutions are being written to cover the cost of clay and to pay for an artist to come teach all the Kindergarteners how to make a clay vase. The clay glazes being asked for in this grant will ensure that the vases can be completed and that all the Kindergarteners get the opportunity to make and take home a vase no matter what teacher they have. We as a team of teachers want to offer the same enrichment activities to all of our Kindergarten students. Funding this grant for clay glazes will allow us to do that.
Perseverance and stamina are essential skills to success in any area of life.
Art is a great way to motivate students to keep at it. The students will feel empowered knowing that they stuck with it and made a clay vase that they can take home and use.
