I am the luckiest teacher in the world! I teach in a school of 1800 bright, goal-oriented students who love learning above all else! They come to school not because they have to, but because they want to! Our population is largely second and third generation Latinos.
Each of my classrooms is filled with respectful, kind, studious students who have a genuine love for knowledge!
This year I am teaching 10th grade, but I typically teach both 10th and 11th.
Shakespeare is hard enough. The "NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE" series makes for much more comprehension of the material. Since Shakespeare's words are "translated" into modern English on the RIGHT side of the page, my students will not only better understand the play, but their appreciation for Shakespeare's language will grow exponentially.
Donations for this project will help students understand Shakespeare's brilliant use of language, which will only help them improve their own approach to writing.
Understanding the impact Shakespeare had on our vernacular will open their eyes to the "power of words."
Macbeth also happens to give me, their teacher, a powerful "teachable moment." The play's characters, themes, and story-lines are eerily relevant in today's world.
