My Students

When the children come to our school, they all begin their day with a free breakfast. They come from a community where eighty-three percent of students are eligible for free and reduced-price lunch, however, all children receive free breakfasts and lunches.

Over half of our students do not have broadband Internet at home so teachers hand out packets of information along with to go meals.

My students come from very rural areas. They describe with joy all of the animals they see at home including deer, goats, cattle, and chicken, and how they feed them.

With all it brings, I am proud to be from Louisiana, proud to be from a rural parish, and humbled to teach impoverished children. Let's give those children a fighting chance to be the best they can be!

My Project

I can see my students in small groups already in my mind, talking, drawing, doodling, and producing their own, original art. I see them talking to each other and learning from each other.

I see a city that they build together, each person with a unique style all their own, creating their architectural style in the building.

I will give old architectural digest magazines To the students so that they will have an idea of the styles of buildings around the world. I want to expose my students to all of the beauty in architecture, and in life, so that they design unlimited dreams.
