My students need awesome Troll wigs and headbands to use for dance festival.
This project expired on July 27, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I have a diverse group of fantastic students. However, the majority of my students come from the public housing system in NYC, along with an increasing number of English Language Learners.
"The greatest natural resource is the minds of our children."- Walt Disney
They are a wonderful group of students who love to explore and learn as well as amaze me on a daily basis. Even though many of them face very harsh realities, they still come in excited to learn and happy to be in school. My students find comfort in the school; for some, it is one of the few constants in life they can count on. Working in a large urban city school with very limited resources, I have learned to be creative when it comes to providing my students with resources.
Dance Festival is a time when students from Kindergarten through 2nd grade get a chance to show off their talents in a fun way.
This year our theme is Trolls.
To help my class stand out, I would like to get Troll wigs and headbands to help students really immerse themselves in the character and all to add to their costumes.
Kindergarten children LOVE to dress up but do not have the opportunity in a Common Core classroom. This will be the perfect opportunity for them to have a chance to really have fun! Plus the bonus will be they can keep the hair, after the dance festival, and continue to foster their imagination as they play at home as well as keep a token of their memory of the dance festival.
