My Students

My students are creative, hard working and driven. They are explorers and historians who look beyond the text and search for a purpose. They have the ability to surprise me daily and encourage me to strive and improve each day. They also have the desire to improve and build upon the skills they have learned each day. They rise to the daily challenge and come back for more with a smile on their face. They are all unique and are a product of this generation and all of the advancements that come with it.

My Project

To help the students with organization, utilizing their lockers, and to focus on student safety, a school wide decision to no longer have backpacks was created. Students are allowed to utilize their lockers at key times of the day, however, they are often bringing materials for other classes into my classroom to be prepared for the next period. This is often a tripping hazard for my students. They are constantly knocking over each others binders and books because of the lack of space. Their materials aren't being cared for properly because they are just putting their materials on the ground, ruining their binders that sometimes forces them to purchase the materials again. They need seat sacks to help them stay organized.
