My students need a quiet fan to keep our classroom cool during the warm months and still be able to hear each other!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students have so much energy for learning and really do come to school each day wanting to learn and know more. As a science teacher, I often find myself feeling like I am falling short of my best teacher self because I do not have all of the resources or the space (or time!) to do everything that I think high school students should experience in science.
Some of my students are not able to afford school supplies and all of the students in my district receive free breakfast and lunch on school days.
My students do not all have ideal living situations and look forward to going to school. It is important to me that I make my classroom a place focused on learning! While I cannot change most things in my students' lives, I can work hard to provide a learning environment that sets them up for success. I strive to provide structure and show my students that I am prepared for them each day!
We do not have air conditioning in all of the classrooms in our school. This year we start school in mid-August, which means that our classroom can get warm!
Our classroom (which is on the third floor) sometimes gets so hot that it is hard to focus.
On top of that, the box fans that we are given are loud and it is hard to hear each other! In addition, without an extension cord, we are limited to fans being close to the electrical outlets.
Having an extra fan in our classroom (that is also quiet!) will help us stay focused so that we can stay on track!
