My kindergarteners are kind, energetic, and excited to learn! They love working together, problem-solving, and singing and moving! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Many students in my classroom are excited to take part in learning.
They need a tool to support engagement and interactivity in their learning!
Our school is in a diverse town in Maryland. 40% of our students are from low-income households and many are English Language Learners. It is my goal to create a warm and welcoming classroom where all of my students can feel at home and engage in learning!
My Project
Encouraging student creativity allows students to blossom into flexible thinkers and self-starters! During small group time, students will be able to show their creativity by using the Markerboard table to draw and record their ideas in math, reading, and writing! Currently, my students use pencil and paper to record math thinking. If we had a Markerboard table, students would be able to record their ideas on the dry erase table. This would minimize copying/paper usage and most important, increase engagement. Making sure students are engaged and excited to learn is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are excited to participate in small group.
My students are noticeably more engaged in small group when their are using up-to-date materials and have ample opportunities to be creative.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them an opportunity to utilize creative thinking during small group. The Markerboard table will allow students to write on the table and without limiting their space for their ideas/models. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that write large and who are creative-minded.
