This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Attitude of Gratitude is our class motto!

We work hard every day to see the good in our lives, our community, and in the world.

My students overcome adversity at home and come to class ready to take on the world. I am lucky enough to greet them at the door each morning offering them a safe, encouraging environment to grow, learn, and plan for a successful future. We often pause to point out the little things to be thankful for. I point out how thankful I am to see their smiling faces each day.

Why we need you: More than half the students in my class speak English as a second language, and many students are two or more years below grade level in reading. I know that with good teaching, engaging lessons, and generous donors like yourself, all of my students will make great academic gains and rise above and beyond our wildest expectations!

My Project

Science and STEM in my school is unfortuantely close to nonexistent. With so many subjects to teach and an unrealistic number of tests to administer, something has to give. But, I have worked hard to build time in each day to engage kids in the sciences! What we need now is materials!

Having access to explorable STEM bins will provide these fourth grade students with hands-on activities that encourage creative thinking, engineering, and inventiveness.

The bundle I chose includes chain reactions, kinetic energy using marbles, space lander activities, and electricity just to name a few kits my students will be able to engage in and explore.
