Hooray! This project is fully funded

I teach almost 400 Brooklyn public school students to play the violin. All year, twice each week, I see all of the students in the third, fourth and fifth grades, and students in special education classes. My violin students share 40 school violins. These violins are used six periods a day everyday. They certainly see a lot of wear and tear! Strings break, chin rests fall off, and bow hairs break. All of these issues are easy to handle. But when a bridge on a violin snaps all the strings fall, and unless you have another bridge to replace the old one with there is nothing you can do. When a bridge breaks it puts the violin out of commission. With only so many violins to go around as it is, loosing one has a big impact. When a bridge breaks the students make a paper halo and wings and stick it to a broken-parts graveyard on the back of our door. Don't worry, its cute, not creepy! We would also like to include cleaning products to our request. Violins can only be cleaned with this specially made cleaner, polish and cloths. And we have a lot of fingerprints and sneezes to clean off of our violins! Having replacement violin bridges available would mean all of our violins could continue to be played and students could continue to learn and grow musically. Thank you for helping up keep our bridges up and running! We can't enjoy our violins without them, or you! Thank you.
