Don't Let Obstacles Get in Your Way! (Exercise & Workouts)
Help me give my students an adventure during our gross motor time with a froggy jumper, agility training, and more, especially when we have obstacle courses.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I love my babies, I love the way they explore and investigate their surroundings. When my children achieve something on their own and get excited, I become excited. Our school has a playground that the children love, but they really like playing in the hallway. I set up gross motor activities in the hall for them to workout/exercise. In the hall, the children run, play ball, ride bikes/scooters, walk on stilts, hula hoop, jump rope, etc.
Our children will be able to jump on a trampoline, crawl through tunnels, jump on pogo sticks, and have more adventurous obstacle courses with the new materials/supplies.
Gross motor activities are a very important part of their day and their learning. Gross motor activities can promote long-lasting health, encourage physical literacy, can boost confidence/self-esteem, provide an avenue for energy release, relieve some of their stress/frustration, can promote brain development, and can boost their ability to assess risk.
