Diversity is at its best in our classroom. Our class has 23 students. Some are learning how to read and write in English, while speaking a different language at home. My students attend a Title I school, and most qualify for free lunch. There are 10 girls and 13 boys. My students love to learn, and the more fun we can make it, the better! Some of my students love coming to school just to have a sense of normalcy in their lives!
My Project
My students have to be reminded daily not to lean on one of our book shelves, because it might fall. My students need two new bookshelves in order for them to feel safer picking out their books. My students love to pick out books to read, but I am nervous when I see the book shelf start to lean (although, it doesn't really bother them).
My students love getting new books.
The few books that are included will give them more opportunity to practice their reading skills each day. The bookshelves will also provide more room for new books in the future!
