My students are kids. 10 year old boys and girls. Some find learning easy, some have to use a little more perseverance. Some students can quietly work at a desk and some need more movement. I have been lucky enough to be the inclusion classroom for the last several years. Working with special education students has been one of my greatest honors as a teacher. The best part of our student body is the diversity. Those differences make us all better humans.
My Project
I absolutely love the direction teachers are taking with making their classrooms kind, fun, engaging and less sterile. Kids will achieve more with a teacher that loves them and learns about them. And what I have learned over the last 20 years, 10 year old kids should not be sitting at a desk all day. Please help me provide more options for student work space, student conference areas, as well as quiet spots. Flexible seating has become a teacher dream for about the last 5 years. I have seen students engage more when they are not only comfortable, but given the right type of flexibility with their "seat" or location.
