This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from all walks of life, but many are born into undesirable life situations. My kids are special because they matter and they deserve to get the same education as anyone else. Everyday, I wake up looking to give my kids the only smile or hug they may see that day and give them an education that will carry them far in life.
My school is a Title 1 school where 100% of our students are on free or reduced price lunch.
We service impoverished neighborhoods and children who may be homeless. Our children light up my day with their curious minds, energetic spirits, and open hearts! They just want to soak up all of the knowledge and love that we can give them!
My Project
I am asking for 2 Apple iPads and a teaching globe. I plan to use the globe for a new curriculum that always discusses the use of a world map or globe, but it has not been provided. The Apple iPads will be in addition to the other 2 that we have and are used during intervention time.
This globe and these iPads will play a major part in the education of my students.
The globe will be used in small group instruction to make connections during read alouds. While it is easy to talk about, if they can see it then it makes that connection real. iPads in my classroom are used during intervention center rotation. My students all get a chance to use the iPads for Smarty Ants program and other phonics apps.
