My Students

My students are the BEST! Despite growing up in a very rural community with over half of our students living in poverty, they have such a hunger for school and music!

Music speaks when words cannot.

My music classroom is a place of refuge, fun, and distraction from everyday stresses, especially the ones we are facing this day and time. My mission is to love, teach, and inspire the little people that walk into my classroom every day.

My Project

As we embark on a new school year with many new procedures and protocols, I want my students to still be able to enjoy music. So many times music can speak where words cannot and using music is a great outlet for us to release stress and anxiety. In my classroom, I use a lot of movement, not just for the students but for me too!

I want us to dance like nobody is watching!

We need to be able to shake our worries away and what better way to do that than dancing?! Don't be moody...shake your booty! This year many music classrooms have been given limitations: wear masks, no singing, social distancing, no playing instruments, etc, etc.

I would love to be able to take music portable outside where we can move freely while releasing all of our built-up worries and anxieties and just to be kids, have fun and enjoy our love of music!
