My Students
Our school is a Title I institution located in Oklahoma City. It serves a multicultural population of students and their children. The library program develops research skills, fosters independent reading, encourages exploration and creativity through STEAM-related projects, and facilitates cooperation through the game and team-building activities.
My student patrons are resourceful, resilient, and reflective readers who are raising their children to be the same.
Together, we are hoping that your generosity and support will help turn our obstacles into accessible opportunities!
My Project
Imagine a holiday fundraiser event that will also double as a school-wide literacy initiative. Students can purchase a ticket to our cookies and cocoa event for $1. The aforementioned price gets them a cup of hot chocolate, a pack of cookies, and an entry to win either a paperback copy of a young adult title, or a picture book for one of the babies in the daycare. All proceeds from the holiday party will go towards purchasing our very first author's visit! Once the funds are raised, students will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite author, out of those available, from The Author Village.
The primary goal of this project is to raise funds for an author's visit while spreading the love of literacy!
