Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher on Special assignment, I am looking to give opportunities to all sites that bridge the gap and encourage critical thinking and problem solving skills.
The students in our schools are hungry for the next generation of learning.
Many of them are on free and reduced lunch based on their socioeconomic status and are English language learners. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." I'd like to be a part of that change.
My Project
These materials will dramatically change the learning environment for my students. Creating a space that engages the students and immerses them into an environment where there are transported each and everyday.
Much wisdom to be gained from the Jedi masters there is.
A Star Wars classroom is the perfect learning environment for my students. There are so many themes an concepts to be taught. The possibilities are endless. Integrating the Star Wars saga can easily be integrated into history, English/Language Arts, and science classes at the middle school and high school levels. From studies in mythology, history, philosophy and the arts, to hands-on experiments in physics and engineering, we spark learning and the imagination by providing engaging and relevant experiences for students of all ages inspired by the captivating characters and stories from the Star Wars universe.
These classroom decors will be the beginning of creating the classroom universe for diverse learners.
