My students need science materials to teach them about mechanics, science, and problem solving and an area to store and create. Lakeshore has an exclusive STEM bundle kit with DonorsChoose and a mobile STEM station.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. The smiles on their faces are why I come to work every day.
I teach at a school where students are wanting new hands-on-experiences and challenges every day.
Students in my classroom love to be hands on. They like to explore how things work. I have often heard kids as they get older say things like, "I'm not good at math or science is hard." I want kids to have as many opportunities to learn these things while having fun at the same time and the earlier the better.
Research shows that children who engage in complex forms of socio-dramatic play have greater language skills than non-players, better social skills, more empathy, more imagination, and more of the subtle capacity to know what others mean. They are less aggressive and show more self-control and higher levels of thinking.
Young children work hard at play.
They know what they want to do and work diligently to do it.
The traditional kindergarten classroom that most adults remember from childhood—with plenty of space and time for unstructured play and discovery, art and music, practicing social skills, and learning to enjoy learning— has largely disappeared. Time for play in most public kindergartens has dwindled to the vanishing point, replaced by lengthy lessons and standardized testing.
By donating to this project children can work hard at play while exploring, building, having collaborative conversations, and having FUN!!!! The Lakeshore Learning STEM bundle is exclusive only to Donors Choose projects. Students get to solve problems, play and explore!
