This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My AP students have an insatiable appetite for learning new things and experiencing science in a meaningful way. I'm often humbled and honored to be their teacher. My aim is to maximize their potential this year and put them on a path to college success.
I teach at a school where over 90% of the students come from low-income homes, so my AP students can truly be described as diamonds in the rough.
They are bright, curious, and resilient and show up to class ready to learn despite the fact that many of them face difficulties well beyond their years.
I'm inspired daily by my students' strength and have vowed to do everything I can to maximize their potential to be successful in my class and in college.
My Project
Practice make perfect, and while I don't expect perfection from my students, I know that practice is the essence of learning and that is exactly what these materials will help them do. The Barron’s AP Biology Student workbooks come equipped with over hundreds of practice questions and dozens of hands-on activities that will help promote my students’ understanding and grasp of the material. The Cracking the AP Biology Exam test prep book comes with 5 prep tests that students can use throughout the year to help prepare them for the exam. Students will also be really exited about the Barron’s AP Biology Flashcards that compliment their workbook. All in all, these materials will have a dramatic impact on their performance and confidence during this entire course. Their ability to work on complex biology topics and questions at home using these materials will greatly enhance their performance in my classroom and on the AP Biology Exam at the end of the school year.
Students who pass this test can earn college credit for taking this course, and I know my students will appreciate and value their workbooks even more when they learn that donors like you saw their potential and decided to invest in it.
