Since the addition of Accelerated Reader to our school, our students are motivated to read, and the numbers are proving it! As of February 1st, 3,734 books were read by our students and they are taking pride in meeting their personal goals. We hope to continue this motivation with an AR renewal!
I teach in a racially diverse title I school.
Our campus has two magnets and a main school which includes a large special needs and gifted population. I have taken on the task of providing literacy assistance to this diverse population and work hard to provide a challenging curriculum that meets the needs of all of these students. Accelerated Reader will compliment my school's already high standards and help to take these students to the next level of accomplishment.
My Project
Accelerated Reader is an on-line program that assigns a level to a multitude of student books. The process motivates students to work through the levels, taking on-line quizzes along the way. Parents and teachers have a private password to login to the student's account so that they can easily monitor their child's progress.
