We are a Pre-Kindergarten Classroom at a Title I Magnet School.
My 20 four year-old students are curious, eager and energetic young learners.
The students bring to the classroom many varied life experiences from their homes and the surrounding community. We embrace both our regular, ESOL and ex-ed children in the classroom and we are located within an economically and culturally diverse neighborhood.
My students love learning and with a variety of resources, I can help them find success, instill confidence, and guide them farther than even they ever thought possible.
Dramatic play or pretend play is vital to early childhood education. Children learn important life skills while engaging in dramatic play with their peers. This unstructured play allows children to act out real-world situations by assuming the roles of different characters. Students get the opportunity to work out conflicts they may have heard or seen in real-life in a safe and productive way.
Our classroom is in need of a dollhouse with accessories for the Dramatic Play/Block Area of the classroom.
Instead of purchasing pre-made dolls for the house, we will use the wooden pieces to make our own people. This way, we can fully represent the families in our community.
